Genre Decision!

Image
Welcome back to our journey into this project. As you can see from our previous three blogs we've been thoroughly researching what possible genres we feel could best align with our pitch "A woman and man get ready to go on a date. They go to an Italian restaurant and have a lovely dinner. She's secretly a spy for the government and he's one of the most wanted assassins in the world. They decide to take a walk and he takes a mysterious turn into a dark, creepy alleyway. The woman and man both realize that they are on a mission to eliminate each other. Who will make it out alive?" Due to our pitch, we decided to research mystery, thriller, and horror.  We thought of Mystery because we felt as though the concept of the unknown would make it easy to attract the viewer's attention. Similarly, we thought of Thriller because it’s similar to Mystery in terms of using the unknown to its advantage. Finally, we thought horror because we like the aspect of something sca

Our Pitch!

Hi everyone welcome back! It's time for us to come up with our pitch. Join us as we discuss!  Pitch #1  A girl makes her own spooky Halloween mask to go trick or treating. She decides to glue a lock of her own hair to the mask. As she puts on the mask it comes to life and takes over her body. She lurks the neighborhood and terrorizes the night. The police go on a wild goose chase to find her. But will they ever be able to find her? I guess we'll never know. *insert evil laugh* Pitch #2 A woman and man get ready to go on a date. They go to an Italian restaurant and have a lovely dinner. She's secretly a spy for the government and he's one of the most wanted assassins in the world. They decide to take a walk and he takes a mysterious turn into dark, creepy ally way. The woman and man both realize that they are on a mission to eliminate each other. Who will make it out alive?  As a group we decided to go with Pitch #2. It was a more fleshed out idea that we felt is more r

A Little Change in Group

For this year's project, I decided to change groups. You might see one familiar face as Lauren and I are still working together. However, instead of working with Andres and Franchesca, we decided to work with Brianna and Savanah. The reason was because all although Lauren and I got placed in the same class period, Andres and Franchesca did not. Therefore, it was not convenient to work together as a group. It would have been too much of a struggle communicating back and forth. So, we separated for the project this year. I decided I wanted to work with Brianna and Savanna because I had been friend with them for a while and we all share similar work ethics. I am familiar with their work ethic and I feel as though I can rely on them to be productive. I trust that my group can have a strong interpersonal tie and, in my opinion, we could solve any difficulty by working together. I decided to partner up with people I know are responsible and will not let me down as an individual and as a

Welcome Back!

After passing AS Level Media Studies, I am glad to be back for another year. I am excited to get started on A level Media and expand my knowledge of film. I can't wait to work on bigger projects and learn more about the philosophical side of film. Lets start off with a little about me. As someone who loves to write, describing myself is surprising something that comes difficult to me. My name is Isabel Reyes and I am in 11th grade attending Fort Lauderdale High School. Academic wise, I would say I am a responsible student who gets good grades and strives for success. I've always been pretty well-rounded, so I've struggled on deciding what exactly I wanted to do as a career. I guess you could say that makes me a typical nerd, someone who loves to read and learn new things. Funny enough, it wasn't until I finished watching "How to Get Away With Murder," my favorite TV Show, where I decided that I wanted to become an attorney in the future. In school, although I
