Production...Rescheduling

Image
I am glad to say we are making progress on this project. To pick up where we left off, I am done reviewing the clips that Andres and Franchesca filmed over spring break. Frankly, we are all happy with the result. The clips we have so far all make up one minute, about half the time of the opening sequence. So, that means we only have a minute left of content we can include. We still need to film scenes between Santana and Maria, Joseph, and Ellie. To do this, we got permission to film in our school's court room. However, we cannot go whenever we want. Our teacher agreed to let us use the court room during second or fourth period. At first, we discussed going today during second period, but Franchesca had a test to make up since that is her study hall period. So, we settled to film the scenes in the court room next week. I for one am looking forward to this, since most of the scenes being filmed here will reveal the story. I am set to play Maria, Detective Santana's secretary. I

Production...in progress!

Coming from spring break, I am very excited to see the progress we have made in this production. After the lockdown that occurred in school that I mentioned in my previous blog, our timelines had be edited and thus we reschedule filming. We all agreed that  we were going to begin filming the weekend of spring break. Unfortunately, there were some conflicts. The plan was to meet at Andres' house in Tamarac to film the scenes of our detective Santana getting ready to begin his day and discovering Ellie Duckwin's missing poster. However, with Lauren out of town, that was one less person that could help with filming. Also, I unfortunately had plans already scheduled in advance for that weekend so I could not make it either. I had dance practice from 10-2, then a performance during the evening. Plus, with Andres living about fifty minutes from my house, it would have been logistically impossible for me to be everywhere at once. I had to prioritize what I had already committed to pr

Production…with a plot twist !

Today was supposed to be the day we started the actual production of our opening sequence. However, things did not go according to plan. Lauren, andres, franchesca and I were supposed to meet after school today from around three in the afternoon until about five. Specifically, we were supposed to film the scene where our detective, Santana, meets Elli for the first time, asking for his help. Then he rudely brushed her off the street and ignores her. Then later on, he sees a missing poster for Elli the next day. This was all supposed to be shot today, however things got a bit complicated. As we were in fifth period, the school announced a lockdown. Apparently, there was a situation in which police were looking for a student in possession of a weapon. They had us stay in our fifth period class until further notice, which ended up being for the rest of the day. During the lockdown, I actually got a lot of my school work done and (luckily enough) Lauren and Andres had the same class as me

Planning the Production...The Wheels Are Rolling !

So, today was very productive and we got a lot of planning done.  For starters, we figured out which days we were going to begin filming. It was decided that next Monday, we were all going to stay after school to film on Wilton Drive. I would not be in any of the scenes yet since my character does not appear in the beginning scenes. Afterwards, we would walk back to school and take the activity busses home. Except, we would all be going on Andres' activity bus and going to his house to finish up filming. My character still does not really show up since the scene being filmed is the lawyer getting ready to go to work in his house.  Originally, we had planned to do all of this filming this weekend. There was a plan to go to Andres' house this weekend and film him getting ready all on Saturday. However, it got a bit complicated. I for one could not make it this weekend since I would be visiting my mother. This is a conflict since my mom lives about two hours north of here, in Por

Production...Or lack of

Welcome to our production journey! Unfortunately, not much was produced or filmed today. Not everyone from our group came to school, so there was not much we could do. Andres was not here during first period, which left me curious. He also did not show up to our second period AICE Media class, and that is when I found out he was actually out sick. Lauren, on the other hand, was out in Orlando on a debate trip. She had qualified for the Florida State debate competition, but they do not come back from Orlando until tomorrow. So, I was the only one from our group in second period. I am still getting to know Franchesca, but since she is in a different class period, I have not had much time to collaborate with her. As far as I know, she was in school that day. But, I don't have any classes with her so I did not get the chance to talk to her about filming. We did talk about planning in the group chat. We went over the script we drafted up, and things we could do to really get in characte

Planning blog: storyboard

Welcome Back! Along with our script we also developed a storyboard for our movie! With five pages total, our first page depicts Santana walking into the courtroom, about to depose a man named Joel. Santana is being explained the case for the first time as he walks into the interrogation room by his assistant named Maria. Santana sits down in the room and begins to talk with Joel. The following page explains the events after successfully resolving the case, where Santana egocentrically flirts with women, before he is interrupted by a phone call. Santana walks away from the women and it’s Maria calling amazed that he was able to resolve this case. Santana is trying to get out of this phone call to flirt with women which he eventually does. As he tries to start flirting again, page 3 shows that Santana is yet again interrupted, but this time it’s a girl named Ellie. Ellie comes to Santana, begging him for help, explaining that she feels as though her life is in danger. Santana explains h
