My group is doing a Lipstick commercial. After some research, we ultimately decided on the brand L'Oreal Paris, in the color riche.  In these commercials, we often see extreme close up shots (ECU) of the lipstick being applied on the actor's or model's lips. The majority of commercials for cosmetic brands focus more on women, which is stereotypical. In fact, all of the commercials I've watched while conducting research consisted of all women actresses or models. The actors often wear costumes of plain clothing, usually of one color or very limited variation. This is probably to draw attention away from the actor's other aspects besides the lips, or facials. The body language of the actor/actress in most lipstick/cosmetic commercials tend to be happy and energetic, expressing their joy of the product. The appearances consist of very natural styled makeup; nothing exotic to draw the audience's attention from the lipstick.  The commercial sometimes uses e...

AICE Media Lipstick Commercial Project 2022

Through this project, I improved my production abilities in a number of areas. I had no prior knowledge of film or the media at first. The only time I've had a connection to media was when I watched movies without knowing anything about the production. I've learned so much through this project and I am now familiar with the filmmaking process. Our team put all of our efforts into this and we are excited to share it with the public.

Production blog: recap of today

 So, to recap from yesterday, the plan was to meet today during study hall to sort out our plans for editing. Needless to say, this turned out more difficult than we hoped. Since we all have different study hall periods, it was hard trying to group together. As of now, most of the teachers are hesitant about letting students in who do not belong to that class. This proved to be challenging, and instead we decided on communicating through text to plan out editing from our own study halls. This proved to be helpful, since for the past couple of days, I've been really busy trying to tackle school and dance. There is also the fact that midterms begin next week, which has me a bit stressed out and distracted from this project. With the load from school getting heavier and the demands from dance practice increasing, its been exhausting trying to keep up.
