It is Crunch Time!
Following up filming last week, I got the chance to review the editing Andres did to the clips I helped film. After we filmed all the clips from the office last week, I sent them all to our group chat on messages and we reviewed each clip one by one. We filmed each scene clip multiple times, some with different angles, different dialogue, etc. We favorited the ones we liked the most and discarded the rest to be organized. Andres then used the clips we favorited on my phone to begin editing them. He put the clips together along with some suspenseful, non-diegetic music, to the background. When he sent it back, I made a comment that the music was too overpowering, and that the dialogue could not be heard over the music. At this, he lowered the volume of the music so that the dialogue could be heard, and came out with thirty seconds of the scene we all approved. The clips were put together and all the transitions came out smooth, a result we all enjoyed. Then we put this scene together with the scene Andres and Franchesca filmed at his house, the one of Detective Santana getting ready. After we put them together, we found that we used one minute and thirty seconds of our two minute limit. We still have more content to make, so I suggested cutting out a clip from the first scene or perhaps speeding up the clips by a little bit. But, we first wanted to get everything filmed before cutting things out, which I found understandable. Since this is all due Friday, it is crunch time. After discussing in the group chat, we decided we were going to film the rest of the scenes Wednesday since that is the day we are all available. I could not stay after school today since I had too many assignments to catch up on. I also could not stay after school to film tomorrow since I have dance practice from seven to ten in Miami. Luckily, everyone else was also available on Wednesday so it worked out. My only concern is that it has been raining these past couple days, and the scenes we need to film are outdoors. Hopefully I come back with good news in the next blog.
