 Props:

Since we chose the song Material Girl, we plan to display a young girl living a lavish lifestyle. To portray this, we plan to use fake money, sunglasses, and a feather boa as our props. 

Costumes:

In our video, we will have one main subject, our material girl, with others playing supporting roles. For the material girl, they would be dressed up in long gloves, fake pearls, and a nice long dress, preferably pink. To fit the stereotype of a gold-digger, they would also wear a blonde wig, a feather boa, and expensive looking sunglasses. The actress would have on light makeup, with the most bold part being some red lipstick. 

For the lower class boys, we would have them dress in casual clothing, such as jeans and a hoodie. Any lower class girls would dress in similar casual clothing but may wear skirts, short dresses, or shorts as well. On the other hand, the boys playing the upper class roles, they would dress in formal attire. This would include a white dress shirt and a suit of no particular color. The plan behind these costumes is to demonstrate a clear divide between the two different social classes. 

Schedule:

• On 11/13/2022 our group got together on FaceTime to research the conventions and codes of pop music videos.

• On 11/14/2022 we planned out what props, costumes, and locations we will use as well as our backup plan. 

• On 11/17/2022 our group will create a storyboard for our music video

• On 11/21/2022 to 11/26/2022 we will film the scenes for our music video

• On 12/2/2022 we will edit the video and add our final touches. 

Location List:

The main location that we will film at is Sawgrass Mills. To really emphasize a lavish lifestyle, we would like to film at the south side outside part of the mall. This is because that side has many fancy stores that we would like to use. We could film at stores like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace. 

Another location that will be used is my bedroom. Since my room is very girly, it would fit into the role of our main role, the material girl. We would film a few of the earlier scenes in this room before moving our location to the mall. 

Backup Plan:

Since the part of the mall that we want to use is outside, we will have to account for issues such as weather. If the weather is not suitable to film, we will switch locations to the covered, inside part of the mall. If somebody is unable to make it, we will try and get any friends who live close by to come. If we can’t get any extra friends, then we will most likely resort to using our parents.
