Creation of Our Package


Hi blog! We had a VERY productive last couple of days working on our film. Due to complications, Lauren and her boyfriend ended up being the stars of the film. Sebastian, who was supposed to be the lead male actor, had to cancel several times due to his busy schedule. So, we decided that we did not have enough time to figure things out with him. Instead, we asked Noah if he would be okay with filming with Lauren, and he agreed! So while Lauren and Noah were filming, we split the rest of the short film package among the rest of the group. I began progress on setting up the website. Let me just say, I did not like working with the platform to create the website, wix. Maybe it was just my computer, but every so often the website would lag and, me being very impatient, I would get very frustrated. However, I did the most with what I could. I inserted pictures of all of us into a "Meet the Team" section, and created a main page for the film. I decided to go with a red theme, since it matches the color scheme of our film. I still need to make some finishing touches. For example, I need to include the showtimes and the awards that our film won. However, this should get done later today. Savannah worked on the post card and it looks AMAZING. She used canva in order to create it. Our group loved how it came out, so I will be using this for inspiration to finish off the website. Brianna is going to be working on editing, since Lauren is officially done filming and has sent all of her takes. This plan is very promising, so we should be done by the next couple of days. I can't wait to show you guys the finished product!

Production...in progress!

 Coming from spring break, I am very excited to see the progress we have made in this production. After the lockdown that occurred in school that I mentioned in my previous blog, our timelines had be edited and thus we reschedule filming. We all agreed that  we were going to begin filming the weekend of spring break. Unfortunately, there were some conflicts. The plan was to meet at Andres' house in Tamarac to film the scenes of our detective Santana getting ready to begin his day and discovering Ellie Duckwin's missing poster. However, with Lauren out of town, that was one less person that could help with filming. Also, I unfortunately had plans already scheduled in advance for that weekend so I could not make it either. I had dance practice from 10-2, then a performance during the evening. Production...Or lack of

Welcome to our production journey! Unfortunately, not much was produced or filmed today. Not everyone from our group came to school, so there was not much we could do. Andres was not here during first period, which left me curious. He also did not show up to our second period AICE Media class, and that is when I found out he was actually out sick. Lauren, on the other hand, was out in Orlando on a debate trip. She had qualified for the Florida State debate competition, but they do not come back from Orlando until tomorrow. So, I was the only one from our group in second period. I am still getting to know Franchesca, but since she is in a different class period, I have not had much time to collaborate with her. As far as I know, she was in school that day. But, I don't have any classes with her so I did not get the chance to talk to her about filming. We did talk about planning in the group chat. Some Things Never Change

Although it has only been a day, some things never change. I finally got home after a long day of competing. From my last blog, I gave an update that I was competing at the national qualifier tournament. I ended up breaking to finals! It was a very thrilling moment as I worked very hard to be where I was. At the awards ceremony, I was sitting very anxiously as they announced the results, and ultimately the top three qualifiers for nationals. Although I did not make top 3, I did achieve fifth place. Achieving fifth means that I am instead the second alternate. So, if two people from the top three were to not make it to nationals, their spot would be replaced with me. Alternatively, if one person from the top three cannot make it, and the first alternate cannot either, then I could take over.
