Creation of Our Package


Hi blog! We had a VERY productive last couple of days working on our film. Due to complications, Lauren and her boyfriend ended up being the stars of the film. Sebastian, who was supposed to be the lead male actor, had to cancel several times due to his busy schedule. So, we decided that we did not have enough time to figure things out with him. Instead, we asked Noah if he would be okay with filming with Lauren, and he agreed! So while Lauren and Noah were filming, we split the rest of the short film package among the rest of the group. I began progress on setting up the website. Let me just say, I did not like working with the platform to create the website, wix. Maybe it was just my computer, but every so often the website would lag and, me being very impatient, I would get very frustrated. However, I did the most with what I could. I inserted pictures of all of us into a "Meet the Team" section, and created a main page for the film. I decided to go with a red theme, since it matches the color scheme of our film. I still need to make some finishing touches. For example, I need to include the showtimes and the awards that our film won. However, this should get done later today. Savannah worked on the post card and it looks AMAZING. She used canva in order to create it. Our group loved how it came out, so I will be using this for inspiration to finish off the website. Brianna is going to be working on editing, since Lauren is officially done filming and has sent all of her takes. This plan is very promising, so we should be done by the next couple of days. I can't wait to show you guys the finished product!

 So, to recap from yesterday, the plan was to meet today during study hall to sort out our plans for editing. Needless to say, this turned out more difficult than we hoped. Since we all have different study hall periods, it was hard trying to group together. As of now, most of the teachers are hesitant about letting students in who do not belong to that class. This proved to be challenging, and instead we decided on communicating through text to plan out editing from our own study halls. This proved to be helpful, since for the past couple of days, I've been really busy trying to tackle school and dance. There is also the fact that midterms begin next week, which has me a bit stressed out and distracted from this project. With the load from school getting heavier and the demands from dance practice increasing, its been exhausting trying to keep up. Group blog: we're getting the band back together!

For this next project, we decided to keep our same group from the commercial, with the exception of one additional member. At the beginning of our commercial journey, we anticipated having Kyra in our group along with Hailey and Alessandra. However, since she was also occupied with the intensity of mock trial, the team decided on an alternative that was less stressful on her behalf. This time around, however, I am glad that she is going to collaborate with us on this project. Our original group worked very well together on the commercial; our team dynamic was very efficient and productive. Since I am accustomed to working independently on academic matters, there are times when I find it challenging to collaborate with others on projects. Some Things Never Change

Although it has only been a day, some things never change. I finally got home after a long day of competing. From my last blog, I gave an update that I was competing at the national qualifier tournament. I ended up breaking to finals! It was a very thrilling moment as I worked very hard to be where I was. At the awards ceremony, I was sitting very anxiously as they announced the results, and ultimately the top three qualifiers for nationals. Although I did not make top 3, I did achieve fifth place. Achieving fifth means that I am instead the second alternate. So, if two people from the top three were to not make it to nationals, their spot would be replaced with me. Alternatively, if one person from the top three cannot make it, and the first alternate cannot either, then I could take over.
