Almost at the Finish Line!

 


Hi again! Although it has not been a while since i’ve last updated everyone, we have made a lot of progress over the last 24 hours. Above, you can see a picture of the front page of our website! As you can see, I chose a red background since it would match the color theme of our short film. I just big text in order to emphasize the message. I also chose the white font to contrast the red background. Since wix didn’t allow me to use “maneater” as the website name, I had to think of alternatives. So, I came up with maneateronline since it allowed this name. Additionally, i created a separate tab that tells viewers about the cast and the crew. I had to insert pictures of all of us, and match the description accordingly. I also chose to add a picture of Noah, even though he isn’t in our group. However I found it fitting since he is the male lead character. I still need to add some more features to the website, including awards. I also have to double check that the links to our social media works. Which reminds me, our socials are also up and running! Savannah has added several photos to our instagram page advertising our film. We even have a couple of followers! Brianna also is still working on the editing process. She did run into a problem with the audio of one scene, but we plan on addressing it tomorrow. Tomorrow we all have our SAT, but we should be free the whole day after. So, we will take this time to regroup. Wish us luck!

For this next project, we decided to keep our same group from the commercial, with the exception of one additional member. At the beginning of our commercial journey, we anticipated having Kyra in our group along with Hailey and Alessandra. However, since she was also occupied with the intensity of mock trial, the team decided on an alternative that was less stressful on her behalf. This time around, however, I am glad that she is going to collaborate with us on this project. Our original group worked very well together on the commercial; our team dynamic was very efficient and productive. Since I am accustomed to working independently on academic matters, there are times when I find it challenging to collaborate with others on projects. Production blog: recap of today

 So, to recap from yesterday, the plan was to meet today during study hall to sort out our plans for editing. Needless to say, this turned out more difficult than we hoped. Since we all have different study hall periods, it was hard trying to group together. As of now, most of the teachers are hesitant about letting students in who do not belong to that class. This proved to be challenging, and instead we decided on communicating through text to plan out editing from our own study halls. This proved to be helpful, since for the past couple of days, I've been really busy trying to tackle school and dance. There is also the fact that midterms begin next week, which has me a bit stressed out and distracted from this project. With the load from school getting heavier and the demands from dance practice increasing, its been exhausting trying to keep up. Production blog: Filming day!

 Unfortunately...things did not go as planned. The original plan was to meet last weekend, December 3rd. However, we were not prepared so we decided to push the filming day back one week. We took this week to plan everything out and finally, we were prepared. All of our amazon orders came in on time. Specifically, the props that were to be used in the video, such as the fake money. We organized with our guy friends an appropriate time to meet at the sawgrass mall, as well as went over the process and attire. Although we mostly planned on using our phones for recording as it had better quality, we rented out a camera and tripod just in case. We were hesitant on using it due to the experience we had with our last project, where we found out the battery life was not ideal. With all this in mind, everything was set for Saturday.
