I'm Sorry- AICE Media Final Task
Attached is our finished product, our opening sequence to "I'm Sorry"! We are extremely proud of this collaborative project. I've improved my production abilities in a number of ways throughout this process. I had no prior knowledge of film or the media at first. However with this being my third project, I've learned so much that not only am I familiar, but I feel as though filming and making a production/project is natural. Our team encountered many conflicts throughout the process. But whatever issue that came at us, we were able to resolve it, and for that I am grateful. My team and I worked collaboratively, especially during these last couple of days. We had to brainstorm and think of alternative plans due to the amount of unprecedented events, like the school lockdown and the horrible weather. We even had to throw out and make a whole new scene since the weather prevented us from staying after school to shoot the phone call between me and Santana. Instead, I voiced-recorded my lines and sent the audio file to Andres. He then added the audio on top of the clips he recorded. So, it looked as though he had me on speaker and he was responding, when really he added the voice memo as non diegetic sound. Overall, we hoped to produce a thrilling, mystery film. We edited in fast paced music to heighten the audience's adrenaline, which is typical of a mystery film. As the story line continued, we tried to having an ending to the opening scene that would leave the audience hooked. So, after introducing Ellie, we came up with her missing poster. I think this film would convey an important message to an audience. Detective Santana was meant to have an ego, where he believed he could crack any case and do anything. However, essentially it is this ego that causes Ellie to go missing, all after he ignores her after she asked for help. I'm excited to present our finished product!
