Intro blog: I'm back!

I am beyond excited to be back to work on my second project for this course. After filming the commercial, I think I am starting to get the hang of filming a project and believe things should go much smoother the second time around. Before we get started, let me reintroduce myself. My name is Isabel Reyes, I'm from Fort Lauderdale High School, and I'm in the tenth grade. Academically, I consider myself to be a responsible learner who works hard and achieves success. I've always been quite well-rounded, so I had a hard time selecting what I wanted to do in my life. It was just recently when I discovered I have a liking for the legal field, especially since it is such a diverse field. I am apart of my schools Pre-Law magnet, and I also participate in school activities, such as debate and the Spanish Honor Society. I am also a competitive salsa dancer, which comes very helpful when I need to destress from school. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking family has given me a lot of exposure to my culture. Even though I am proud of my wonderful Hispanic heritage, I have encountered the prejudice that comes with being a member of the minority. I think my biggest fear would be becoming disconnected from my culture. Being one of the first generations of my family to grow up in the United States, I have never been exposed to the hardships that come from living in a third world country. Now of course I appreciate the opportunities this has opened for me, but sometimes it also makes me feel disconnected. Filming the commercial actually allowed me to connect to my hispanic commercial in a way as well. We filmed it at my friend Hailey's house, which allowed me to be welcomed into a family that was similar to my own. Filming the commercial opened my eyes to the world of media. Now, with my new gained knowledge, I am excited to experiment with more filming in order to pull off a great music video. I anticipate a much easier process, since a lot of trail and error was already resolved from the commercial. We only learn from our mistakes, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to film a bigger project.
